Obituary For Elaine Marie Croken
Elaine Marie Croken, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at Prairie Lake Hospice, at the age of 73 years.
Elaine was born in smith, AB, on May 2, 1949, and raised in Grande Prairie. She completed her education at the Grande Prairie Composite High School. She worked at Alberta Power, Carter Lock and Repka, St. Patrick’s School as a school secretary, and Northgate Electric.
Elaine loved music, singing, dancing, camping, bingo, and spending time with family. She also enjoyed partying, slots, VLTs, and singing with her brothers Mel, Jim, and family. She was kind, caring, giving, compassionate, and very social.
Elaine will be sadly missed by her husband John A. Croken; children: Lori (James) Palmer, Darcy Croken, Patrick Croken, and Lisa Croken; grandchildren Avery and Keegan Palmer; brothers Mel (Marg) Berg and Jim (Judy) Berg; sisters Yvonne (Terry) Gorman and Darlene (Joe) Scruggs; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; as well as brothers in-law: Gene (Lorrie) Croken and Edward “Mike” (Pam) Croken.
Elaine was predeceased by her parents Irvin and Evelyn Berg.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2022, at 11:00am, at St. Joseph Catholic Church (10404 102 St.).
Memorial Donations may be made to the Sunrise House (9309 109 Ave., Grande Prairie, AB, T8V 6W7), a Food Bank of one’s choice, or do a random act of kindness for a stranger.
