Lawrence Boisvert 2022

It is with great sadness the family of Lawrence Boisvert announces his peaceful passing on Monday, December 5, 2022 at the age of 92 years.
Lawrence will be lovingly remembered by his children Doug (Jacquie), Susan (Chris), and Bill; grandchildren; Christopher, Meagan, Amy (Colin), Clayton (Bethany), Connor (Justine), Dalton (Jessie), Jess; great-grandchildren; Alexis, Cody, Kylie, Landon, George, Murphy, Cooper, Ellebri, Ember, Graydon, Isla; brother Donald (Linda), brother-in-law Ross (Shirlee) and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 68 years, Eileen, parents Arthur and Edna, three sisters Jeanne, Gerry and Henriette, grandson Josh and great granddaughter Poppy.
Lawrence was born in Legal, Alberta. His life began on the farm, as time passed the family moved into town where they owned the local store. In his early twenties Lawrence’s parents moved to Cold Lake after enduring the hardship of their store burning down in a fire.
In Cold Lake Lawrence met and married the love of his life Eileen. During their early years of marriage Lawrence managed the hotel and also worked construction for his father-in-law. The construction business became very busy and required the family to move from Cold Lake to Ontario. After the job was finished Lawrence and Eileen along with their young family moved to Edmonton in 1957. This started Lawrence’s long career with Texaco. After leaving Texaco Lawrence became an agent for Shell and operated gas stations in Edmonton. Eventually retiring at the young age of 57.
They raised their family in the community of MacLeod where they were very involved in sports with their kids and made many life-long friends. They gathered often with these friends and Dad’s love of singing and playing piano would come to life.
In retirement Lawrence and Eileen spent summers at their cabin at Garner Lake, golfed, travelled to Arizona for the winters and made longer trips to Hawaii and Australia. They also enjoyed trips to Las Vegas and camping trips to Montana and California.
Lawrence loved travelling to numerous hockey games his grandson Connor played throughout Alberta, Saskatchewan and BC. He enjoyed summers watching Clayton & Connor play baseball. As Jess and Dalton played sports, he would head to Kelowna with Eileen to watch them.
Much of his time was spent with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren celebrating birthdays and other events which gave him incredible joy watching them grow.
Lawrence spent many afternoons in his later years having coffee at the mall with the boys. He enjoyed their company as they solved the worlds issues.
Retiring at 57 and living to 92 with very good health was a blessing Lawrence was grateful for. Eileen’s health declined at the end of October which seemed to lead to Lawrence’s health failing as well.
Mom passed on November 12th and Dads heart was broken. This 68-year love story has carried on as Dad was reunited with Mom December 5th.
We are so very heart broken we lost both our parents/grandparents/great-grandparents within three weeks of each other but we are comforted they are in each other’s arms again as their love story continues.
Due to Eileen’s recent funeral the family is having a private Memorial Mass for Lawrence.
