The Smith family, with great sorrow and regret, would like to announce the peaceful passing of their beloved mother Joan Smith of Surrey, BC on December 3, 2022, at the age of ninety-one. Joan was born in Edmonton on August 28, 1931.
Joan is survived by two of her sons, Kenneth and his wife Nancy, Keith and his wife Alicia, her daughter-in-law Marlene, and her grandchildren Kathryn, Samantha, Colin and his fiancée Sarah, and her great grandson Elliott.
Joan volunteered at the Peace Arch Community Services Society- Shop by Phone for 25 years. In addition, she volunteered at the White Rock Hospice Society for many years, and she was the “Queen Mom” for the Peninsula Poppies which was one the White Rock Red Hat Society chapters. Our mom spent a lifetime of volunteering and giving of her enormous heart. Joan enjoyed all their activities she ever put her mind to and through that made long lasting friendships along the way.
In lieu of flowers, if you would, please make direct donations in Joan Smith’s name to the White Rock Hospice Society.
There will be no service as this was our mothers wish.
