Obituary for
Thaddaus “Ted” Szczebonski
The family announces with great sorrow his death at Extendicare Timmins on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at the age of 71 years. Born on June 6, 1951 in Neckarsulm, Germany, he came to Canada in December 1951 with his parents and older brother where they settled in Timmins. Growing up, he spent his teenage years playing football at TH&VS and always had a story to tell about that. After high school, he worked in the mines. Later on, he graduated as an electrician from Northern College in Kirkland Lake. He then worked for Ontario Power Generation before he retired in 2010. He met his wife in Timmins and they had one daughter, Natalia. Ted was predeceased by his brother Henry (2004), his mother Maria (2018) and his older brother Alex (2021). Ted is survived by his wife Jozefa of 33 years, his daughter Natalia (Trevor Dewan), his sister-in-law Louise, his brother Richard as well as many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff of the Kamiskotia wing of the Extendicare especially Dr. DiTullio, nurses Mel and Julie as well as the health care aids who took great care of Ted. Remembrance donations to Alzheimer’s Canada or the charity of your choice would be gratefully appreciated. Cremation has taken place and a private family gathering was held.
