David James Jacklin
September 3, 1954 – November 28, 2022
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of David Jacklin, at the age of 68 years, after a courageous battle with Covid at the Red Deer Regional Hospital. He was a loving son, husband, father, and grandfather.
Beloved husband of Nola (Arp) for 47 years. Loving father of Clayton (April) and Carmen (Cameron) Miller. Cherished grandfather of Brayden, Allison, Redden, Carson, Halle, Calvin, Grace Ann (deceased) and Aubrey. David will be dearly missed by his former daughter-in-law Tracy (Chad) Thompson, his mother Marian Jacklin of Hanover, his siblings Bryan (Darlene), Bruce (Sherry), Donna (Dennis) Bridge, Douglas (Heather), Roger (Alison) and their families. Fondly remembered by his sister-in-law Marianne Jacklin and brother-in-law Wesley (Kim) Thompson, as well as many other family and friends. David was predeceased by his father James (1999), sister Bonnie Thompson (2004) and brother Fred (2022).
David was the eldest of eight children attending Chesley and District High School, and then he went on to Regina to join the Royal Canadian Mounted Police – “Depot” Division Troop 29 – 1973/74, graduating August 19, 1974, Constable D.J. Jacklin. After retirement he made his home in Alix, Alberta.
Cremation has taken place and at David’s request there will be no formal funeral service.
David’s siblings wish to thank the staff of the Red Deer Hospital in Alberta (especially the I.C.U. unit) for the care and compassion given to David and his family.
