Obituary

Hayes, Muriel (nee Shantz)

Peacefully passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2022 at Grand River Hospital at the age of 88 years.

Loving wife of the late John W. Hayes (1998). Dear mother of Brian Hayes (Anne), Rhonda Zuk (Mike). Devoted grandma of Melanie; Greg (Katey), Bradley, Natalie; Carissa (Jeff), Vanessa; and by her great grandson Max.

Muriel was the last surviving member of her family having been predeceased by her parents Ivan and Irene (Bauman) Shantz, siblings Gladys Brubacher, Mervin Shantz, Eugene Shantz, Floyd Shantz, Wilfred Shantz, sons David and Brent in infancy.

Muriel was a longtime, faithful employee at the Stone Crock, St. Jacobs and a resident of St. Jacobs for many years.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2022 from 1-4 p.m. at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, 62 Arthur St. S., Elmira. Family Interment in St. Jacobs Mennonite Cemetery. Donations to the Woolwich Community Food Bank would be appreciated and may be made through the funeral home.
