Obituary
Herrington, Douglas Earl- Passed away peacefully, on Tuesday November 29th, 2022 at the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital. Doug, in his 96th year, husband of the late Vi Herrington. He was the proud dad of Kirk (Janet) Herrington, Karen (Steve) McNamara, Kim (Cary) Badder and Keith (Cheryl) Herrington. Loving grandpa of Eric, Meghan (Matt), Kyle (Caroline) and Caitlin and great-grandpa of Calvin. Dear brother of Pauline Greenslade, Dolores “Mike” Young, Joyce Marshall and Ron (Barb) Herrington. Predeceased by his sister Bernice Cappus. Brother-in-law to Phillis (Ted) Humphreys. Doug will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Doug was born at home on January 8, 1927 and was a longtime resident of Georgetown, never living more than a couple miles from his birth home. He worked many years for Abitibi Price, was a longtime member of the Legion and proudly served his community as a member of the Georgetown Volunteer Ambulance Service for over 20 years. Doug was an avid camper enjoying many trips throughout Canada with his family. He enjoyed bowling, curling and a good card game. His unique sense of humour, sharp wit and the twinkle in his eyes will be fondly remembered and greatly missed.
Friends and family will be received at the Jones Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, Georgetown on Saturday December 3rd, from 10:00 am until time of Funeral Service held in the chapel at 11:00 am.
