Obituary of Eileen Pepper
Pepper, Elsie “Eileen” (nee Doughty) passed away suddenly on November 28th, 2022 in her 85th year. Loving wife of the late George Pepper. Cherished mother to Ginnie (John) Gray, Sue Lehman (Wayne St. Denis) and Sally (Denys) MacDonald. Grandmother to Russ (Shannon), Eric (Cynthia), Aaron, Julie (Levi), Danny, and Bryar (Jill). Great-grandmother to Connor, Cameron and Hannah. Eileen also leaves behind in-laws Jim and Pat Pepper and Evelyn Pepper, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends she loved so much. Eileen is predeceased by her siblings Andrew (Evelyn) Doughty, Margaret (Bruce) Miller, Jim (Doreen) Doughty, Roy (Eileen) Doughty and brother in-law Bob Pepper. Eileen was born and raised on a farm outside of Jarvis by her parents William and Elsie (nee Henning) Doughty. She was the youngest of 5 Doughty children. Eileen began her teaching career in the one room schoolhouses around the Nanticoke area. She later became a music teacher for the Haldimand Norfolk Catholic School Board for many years. Eileen was the organist for Wesley and Grace United Churches and Knox Presbyterian Church. Friends are invited to meet with family and share their memories of Eileen on Sunday December 4, 2022 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at THOMPSON WATERS FUNERAL HOME, 102 First Ave. Port Dover. (519)583-1530 A service of remembrance will be held Monday December 5th, 2022 in the funeral home chapel at 1:00pm. For those wishing, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Norfolk General Hospital would be appreciated by the family.
