Obituary
Smith, John David – 77, of Oak Park, passed away at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital on November 27, 2022. John was born on July 28, 1945; he was the son of the late Everett and Verna (Sperry) Smith. John was a hard worker and loved his job as a sign painter. He was well known in the fishing community, as John lettered and painted murals on numerous fishing boats. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren who brought him so much joy. John enjoyed 4 wheeling, music, dancing, camping, clamming in Port l’Herbert and having long conversations, and of course telling jokes, with people in the community. He is survived by his wife, Melinda Smith; daughter, Tammy (Darrell) Newell; son, David (Andrea) Smith; grandchildren, Justin, Amanda and Katherine; great-grandchildren, Caleb, Drew, Archer, Jax and Sallie; siblings, Elizabeth (Ron) Phillipchuk, Ruth Hatfield and Marsha (George) Goodwin; niece, Julie (Foreman) Crowell. Arrangements are under the care and direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Barrington. In keeping with John’s wishes cremation has taken place. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or any charity of choice.
