Bernice Mae Filion 1935 2022

Obituary of Bernice Mae Filion
FILION, Bernice Mae – Entered into rest in her 88th year on November 23, 2022. She leaves behind her loving husband of 49 years, Roger Filion. Bernice was a devoted mother to Chris McPherson (Glen); grandmother to Taryn McPherson, Nicole Kepic (Alex), Diana Woodham (Eric), and Brian McPherson (Mariah); and great-grandmother to Austin, Nolan, and Ryleigh. Pre-deceased by parents, Willard and Winnifred Peck, and sisters, Maxine and Margaret.
From her corporate career days at Hotel Dieu Hospital and Etobicoke General Hospital, to her 15 years volunteering at the Douglas Memorial Hospital Auxiliary in Fort Erie post-retirement, Bernice made a lasting impact on everyone she knew. She loved life and was passionate about boating, playing cards, trips to Florida, cooking, and gathering with her fellow Red Hats. More than anything, she adored her family and lit up when everyone was together. Her laugh was contagious, and her playful sense of humour will be missed.
Special thanks to Dr. Scher, for all his years of service, to PSWs Catherine and Miriam for their home care in the last couple of years, and to the Douglas Memorial Hospital staff for their support in Bernice’s final days.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 27th at Tallman Funeral Homes in Vineland, ON from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. A private service will follow on Monday, November 28th at 10:00 am, also at Tallman Funeral Homes.
If desired, donations can be made to the Douglas Memorial Hospital Auxiliary in Bernice’s name.
