Obituary
By all accounts, April 18, 1940, was a drizzly spring day in Macleod, Alberta when little Kenneth William Gorham made his way into this world of ours. That unforgiving era gave an unmarried teenager very few options for the future and after several months of deliberation, she chose the option of adoption to family members for her infant son. Hence- Kenneth William’s destiny was re-routed and Kevin Victor Faulkes began his journey in life!
Those who know Kevin best, know that he was a kindhearted, free-spirited soul who often swam upstream. His love of music began at an early age and continued throughout his life. As a young man he sang in several bands and finally decided to get a “real” job when he met & married his forever soul mate, his wife Karen. They celebrated over 58 years together and have a truly amazing son, Zen Faulkes. During his work years Kevin worked at every job imaginable (far too numerous to mention) and those jobs lead to residing in provinces across the country, until settling in Pincher Creek.
He had an insatiable passion for nature which led to spending endless days exploring the wilderness photographing everything in his path – wildflowers, rocks, scenery & wildlife. His stunning photographs are a reflection of his love of life, his warm smile, and his kind heart.
Kevin is survived by and will be forever in the hearts of his wife Karen, son Dr. Zen Faulkes (Sakshi), sisters Beth Fisher (Rob), and Donna Taylor, as well as his in-laws Brent Seely (Marcy) & Shelley Ramias (Steve). Kevin was also blessed with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who were all amazing individuals and very special to him.
A Celebration of Kevin’s Life will be held at a date to be determined.
Kevin truly lived by the motto – “Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass – it is about learning to dance in the rain.”
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Kevin Victor Faulkes April 18 1940 November 15 2022 (age 82)..
