Kenneth Philipp Thompson passed away on Saturday, November 5th, 2022 at the Brockville General Hospital peacefully at the age of 75, after battling with brain cancer. The Lord was ready for his arrival.
Ken was loved by his parents, the late Doug & Dorothy Thompson, Joyce & Wendell Stanley. He will be missed by his children Darryl Thompson (Christine), Corey Thompson, Ryan Thompson, Chris Thompson (Dionne) and his grandchildren Nathan & Caleb Thompson and Emily Thompson. Missed by his sisters Darla Thompson (John Rousseau) and Debbie Thompson.
Ken was born in Montreal and grew up there, as a child. He met his wife, Arlene MacIntosh, in high school and it was love at first sight. After graduation, he worked at Litho Printing for many years before they moved to New Brunswick where he studied Christianity at NBBI. The whole family moved back to Quebec, joined CSSM and spent some of his fondest years raising his family at Camp Livingstone and other parts of the Eastern Townships. There, Ken and Arlene connected with many families, with the Lord as their leader. Ken’s greatest joy was to make people happy and he did that through the ministry. Ken loved spending time with his family in PEI, Florida and loved being out in the sun enjoying life. Ending his time in Brockville, Ontario, he met a kind woman and companion, Dolly Etherington. They spent time dancing, laughing and enjoying the small moments in life. Dolly was with Ken for his last few breaths, as he peacefully slipped away.
In keeping with Ken’s wishes there will be no service. Arrangements are entrusted to the Irvine Funeral Home, 4 James St., East, Brockville. Memorial donations to the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada. Make a donation or share a memory of Ken by clicking on the Memory Button above.
