Marc André Monette died peacefully, surrounded by his loving children, on November 3 at the age of 91. Marc is now reunited with his beloved wife of 64 years, Antoinette (nee Bondy 2020).
Loving father to Pierre Monette (Debbie), Monique Spinarsky (Carl), and Nicole Baillargeon (Patrick). Grand-papa to Marc Daniel Mazur (Jo-Elle), Chantal Monette, Alexandra Browne (Ciaran), Danielle Baillargeon (Amay), Kelly Spinarsky, and Adam Spinarsky (Vanessa), and proud arrière grand-papa to Margaux, Cillian, and Aviana. Predeceased by siblings Rita, Jacqueline, Roger, Paul-Aimé, and Louise, Marc will be missed by his brothers Guy and Yvan, as well as by nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Marc was born in St-Jérôme, Québec, and later came to Windsor as a young man, where he met his future wife Antoinette. They were a team of hard working, well respected pillars in their professions, but together they valued their family above all else. Although his work ethic was strong, at heart he was a family man, and he was a constant presence in the lives of his children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. As they got older, Marc was Antoinette’s unwavering helping hand in the home, garden, and kitchen.
Marc worked for Ford in Windsor for 37 years, where he was admired by all who knew him. He wasn’t afraid to get his hands dirty, or to put in the extra hours to get the job done.
He will be remembered for his generosity of spirit, kindness, and for his love of a good joke. As many who knew him can attest, Marc was respected for his integrity, quiet strength, and his ability to make people feel at home with his full attention. His warm smile and positive outlook on life impacted everyone he met.
He was devoted to those he loved, he could fix anything, and never said no to anyone who needed help. He was a role model for us all, the rock in our family, and he stayed strong until the very end.
We will miss your hand squeezes, your spark and your unconditional love. On t’aimera pour toujours.
