Tramley Barbara Ann 2022

Barbara Ann Tramley (née Lane), of Montreal, QC, passed away on November 3rd, 2022.
Barbara was born to parents John and Violet Lane March 19th, 1934, in Montreal, Quebec, and was sister to Patricia, John and Tom (Sandra).
Always a progressive and confident woman, she began working for the ICAIO after graduating from The Mother House, igniting her love of travel. Continuing on that path, she drove herself and 2 girlfriends across Europe on an adventure, after crossing the Atlantic by steamship.
Barbara married George Allan Tramley (deceased 2020) in 1961. They were married for 59 wonderful years and were loving parents to Allan (Nathalie), Patricia (Matt), and Stephen (Desta).
She had the pleasure of spoiling nine grandkids – Peter, Chloe, Bobby, Nicholas, Elyssa, Mark, Pryor, Sara Emilie, and Brynn.
Following in her father’s footsteps, Barbara had a love of the beach and the ocean that fed her soul. The years at Kennebunkport and Goose Rocks, Maine, were cherished memories that she would pass on to her children and grandchildren.
An excellent athlete, she loved to ski, and played tennis for many years. Barbara also enjoyed card games, whether bridge with the ladies or her daily cribbage games with Allan, her children, and her grandchildren. She had a great mind for numbers and was a very astute investor.
With the changing seasons, Barbara fell in love with the trees and mountains of Vermont at Smugglers’ Notch. The cottage was her favorite getaway to spend time with Allan, and family and friends.
What really stands out for those she leaves behind is the great love and dedication she showed for her family – from her parents, siblings, and their families, to her children, in-laws and grandchildren. She instilled in her children a love of coaching or working with students.
Barbara dedicated her life to raising her children in a loving and caring home. She became involved in many of their activities including Brownie leader, t-ball coach and manager of many soccer teams.
Barbara created a wonderful atmosphere at home with her love of music, playing the piano, as well as always having music on in the house. This love of music was passed onto her children where they continue to fill each of their homes with music of every genre.
Feeling lucky to have all of her 9 grandchildren close by, Barbara took an avid interest in their lives, teaching them to always look on the bright side of life and most of all to take the time to appreciate what you have.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Alzheimer Society of Canada (alzheimer.ca/en/take-action/donate)
A funeral service will be held at St Edmund’s parish this coming week, date and time to be announced in the coming days. A celebration of Barbara’s life will be held after the funeral service.
