Joudrey, Leon Merlyn- Age 54, Portapique. It is with profound sadness that the family announces the passing of Leon on October 30, 2022. Born March 24, 1968, in Sheet Harbour, he was the son of Jessie Joudrey and the late Merlyn Joudrey.
Leon was at home in nature. He enjoyed spending his time in the woods, on the water fishing, and always loved hunting. He was known for living life to the fullest, whether it was go-kart races as a kid, scuba diving, hockey, enjoying the trails on his snowmobile and motorcycle, or just simply doing work around the yard; he truly loved it all.
Following graduation from Duncan MacMillan Highschool in Sheet Harbour, Leon pursued further education at both NSCC in Bridgewater and Maritime Forest Ranger School in Fredericton. Leon was an experienced forestry technician who loved working in his chosen career in the woodlands.
Leon loved his family and will be deeply missed by son, Christopher; daughter, Natalie; his two dogs, Basil & Yzerman (whom he considered additional children); as well as their mother, Melanie of Truro. Missed also by his sister, Cora Lee Joudrey, of Musquodoboit Harbour, and Mom, Jessie Joudrey, of Sheet Harbour.
He enjoyed being part of the community and was fortunate to have the support of many good friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations in Leon’s memory be made to the SPCA.
Visitation will take place Monday, November 7, 2022, from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro. A private burial will take place in Sheet Harbour at a later date. Online condolences are available at www.ColchesterCommunity.com
