Obituary
Norma Kathleen Earley-Kulczyski left this life on October 21, 2022 in the company of her beloved daughter, Stephanie.
She was the first-born child of George and Madeline (Palmer) Earley, and was born in Scarborough, Ontario on July 9, 1947. She is survived by her children, Daniel (Alana) and Stephanie (Jeff); her grandchildren, Neil, Luke, Lyla and Jackson, as well Julia, and her loving siblings: Nancy (Lou), Patsy (Lloyd), William (Beverly), and Cathy (Danny). Norma leaves behind many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by both of her parents, her husband, as well as her sister, Arlene.
Norma grew up in Bracebridge, Ontario and attended Bracebridge and Muskoka Lakes Secondary School. She was the first to leave home, setting out to discover a different world and to make her way. She began her young adulthood in Toronto. Shortly thereafter, she moved to Halifax, Nova Scotia, where she worked at Dalhousie University, played bridge, enjoying the beauty of the maritime and day trips to Peggy’s Cove.
She then moved to Montreal, where she worked at an architectural firm and went to Rolling Stones and Janis Joplin concerts. Here she met her husband and the father of her children, Lawrence Kulczyski. Together, they moved to Toronto, where they made a home and began a family; she would remain for the rest of her life.
Norma took tremendous pride and pleasure in her children, delighting in both their gifts and adventures. She worked hard to provide a loving home and always tried to do her very best for her family.
She loved life, laughter, telling stories, and Super Mario. She was astute and quick-witted, always ready to listen, talk and help anyone in need.
Norma took great delight in doting on her grandchildren and supported them in becoming fully themselves. She reveled in and took great pride in their artistic, academic and athletic accomplishments. They brought her great joy and happiness and were her greatest gifts.
She was a fast friend and a loving family member to many. Norma’s humor, her competitiveness, and her love of the game made her a pleasure to play with – no matter the stakes – day or night.
Norma loved fiercely and fought valiantly – until the very end. May she rest in peace.
As per Norma’s wishes: Cremation by Basic Funerals – no service to follow. Plant a tree in memory of Norma shop.alivingtribute.org/products/plant-a-tree-canada.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Norma Kathleen Earley-Kulczyski July 9 1947 October 21 2022 (age 75)..
