Obituary
IRWIN, Douglas Harold
It is with deep sadness the family announces Douglas Harold Irwin’s passing on Monday, October 24, 2022 at age 83 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Hamilton. Doug leaves behind his wife (Faye), children Kathy (Dave) and Elaine (Eric). He very much loved his grandchildren Benjamin, Sara, Brandon and Elizabeth, always talking about them and sharing photos with friends.
He lived a long life, loved by all, independent to the end. Doug served with the Ontario Provincial Police and Hamilton Police Service for 34 years and was passionate about his work, still keeping in touch with many people he knew through policing. He was a proud graduate of Kempville Agricultural College class of 1959, and enjoyed the annual class reunions. In recent years, Doug enjoyed square dancing, doing handyman work and traveling the province to visit friends.
Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday November 1, 2022 from 2-5 p.m. at KITCHING, STEEPE & LUDWIG FUNERAL HOME 146 Mill St. N., Waterdown. Burial to take place at Emily Cemetery in Peterborough on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at 1 pm. As an expression of sympathy, donations to Hamilton-Wentworth Regional Police Employees Charity Trust Project Concern would be appreciated by the family.
