Obituary
With saddened hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Enid Francess Pratt (nee White), in her 78th year. Enid passed away, peacefully, surrounded by her loving family at the Rockyview Hospital in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, on Wednesday, October 12, 2022. Our loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother (Nana) will be missed dearly.
Enid was born to her parents Cyril and Theodora White (nee Sawyerr) in Freetown, Sierra Leone, West Africa on October 19, 1944, and was the only child of this union. Enid, husband, and family immigrated to Canada in 1974, initially settling in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, then moving to Calgary in 1978.
Enid’s life was well lived and enjoyed with family and numerous friends. She worked with the Provincial Government for a lengthy tenure with both the Cultural Department and Recreation & Parks Department. She also thoroughly enjoyed international travel and philanthropic activities.
Enid is survived by her adoring husband, Charles Pratt; their four children, Rogerline (Matthew), Valerie (David), Vanessa (John), and Cyril (Tavia); three grandchildren Tatiana, Rayff, and Braden; and her mother Theodora White.
Enid was predeceased by her father, Cyril George White (1971); and her grandmother, Frances Hannah Sawyerr (1987).
The Pratt family would like to thank all the nurses, doctors, and support staff who were instrumental in keeping Enid comfortable during the last stages of her life.
Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers at St. Gerard’s Catholic Church (8944 Elbow Dr SW) on Monday, October 24, 2022, at 7:00pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Gerard’s Catholic Church on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at 11:00am. Graveside service to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
