HOLMES, STUART
Peacefully at the Winchester Hospital surrounded by his devoted wife and family on Friday October 14, 2022 Stuart Holmes in his 96th year. Beloved husband of Joyce (Cinnamon). Cherished father of Terry (Judy), Dean (Penny), Jeff (Wendy Ann), Peter (Kim), the late Greg (Kathy) and the late Wendy. Adored Poppa to 17 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 2 great, great grandchildren. Son of the late Ernest and Hilda (Jackson). Brother to Thelma Williams, Winnifred Patterson, Betty Faith, Dwayne, Richard (Ellie) and the late Mabel Summers, late Fred (Barbara), the late Larry (Orleen). Brother-in-law to Audrey Stewart, Betty Griffin (Bill), Mary McMillan, Judy Cinnamon (Reg Cayer), John Cinnamon (Linda), Susan Rooke and the late Gary Cinnamon. Fondly remembered by numerous nieces and nephews. Stuart touched many lives during his 39 year teaching career with the CBE and his active involvement in many community organizations, particularly his enthusiastic, 44 year Lions Club membership, where he served a term as district governor. Stuart cherished family gatherings, community functions, cottage time, visiting friends, and was an avid sports enthusiast. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Daley Family Funeral Home, 6971 Bank St. from 1-4 and 6-9 pm on Thursday October 20th. A private Memorial Service will be held for family and relatives at 11am on Friday October 21st. Everyone is invited to celebrate Stuart’s life at the Osgoode Legion from 2-5 pm on Friday October 21st. At 3pm, the Mountain & District Lions Club will honour their distinguished colleague with a short memorial service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Osgoode Care Centre, 7650 Snake Island Rd. Metcalfe, ON K0A 2P0 or the Osgoode-Kars United Church, P.O.
