Norma Doris Tice MacIver Friday October 14th 2022

TICE, Norma Doris (nee MacIver) – It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beautiful, loving Mother at Southlake Regional Health Centre in Newmarket, Ontario, on Friday, October 14th in her 88th year, an age she was so proud to attain. Loving wife of the late William George Tice for over 60 years. Beloved mother of Mary (Mike), Sheila (Chris), and Judi (Barry). Proud and beloved Grandma of Michael (Meagan), Erin (Steven), Olivia (Eric), Emily (Matt),and Quinton. Proud and beloved G.G. to Jennifer, Teddy, William, Evie and Malcolm. A favourite Aunt to many special nieces and nephews and a friend to all. Younger sister of the late William MacIver (late Selma), older sister of the late Mary Armstrong, nee MacIver (Clyde). Beloved daughter of the late Gladys and Roderick MacIver.
Norma was born and raised in Toronto where she was proud to say she began her working life as a clerk at the Eaton’s Department Store and would then work in part-time clerical jobs in order to be a stay-at-home Mom. She retired from a job she loved as Receptionist in the Rehab Department at Southlake Regional Hospital in order to babysit her grandchildren. She met the love of her life, Bill, at a New Year’s Eve Party in 1953 and they began their over 60 years love story until Dad’s passing in 2016. Those who knew her, knew that Mom never wanted for much except for her family to be happy and healthy. She was so very proud of her three girls, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She would say that she was so proud of the life decisions made by her and our Dad, but the best decision they ever made was to retire to babysit the grandchildren. She was our rock, the glue that held us together. We will dearly miss her smile, laugh and words of wisdom, but especially her bravery and strength she showed us every day. And, as in the words of our Mother, it truly is the end of an era.
The family would like to thank the caring staff at Southlake Regional Health Centre, especially those angels involved in Mom’s final few days in Palliative Care.
Family and Friends may call at the Roadhouse & Rose Funeral Home, 157 Main Street South, Newmarket, Ontario on Friday, October 21 at 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Funeral Service in the Chapel will commence at 1:00 pm. Reception and Celebration of Norma’s life will follow in the lounge at Roadhouse & Rose.
If desired, donations may be made to the Southlake Foundation. On-line condolences can be made at www.roadhouseandrose.com
