Mary Rosella Dort 1939 2022

DORT, Mary Rosella – Age 82, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, in the Canso Seaside Manor with her family by her side.
Mom was a much-loved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother. Mom lived her life in Canso where she spent some years working in the community at the fish plant and retail stores. She loved curling, bingo and was content in her own space, but never turned down a good social. She spent many years travelling around the world with her best friend, Raymond MacDonald.
Mom will be sadly missed by our dad Harold, her husband of 62yrs; her children, Michael (Juanita), Canso; Brian (Darlene), Halifax; Kevin (Tonya), Masstown; grandchildren, Rachael, Erin, Stephen, Gregory, Rachelle, Olivia, Matthew, Sarah; great-grandchildren, Rowan, Ben, Bentley, Weston, Ellis, Declan. Mom is also survived by her brother, Gordon Swaine, Halifax; sister, Sheila Rhynold, Canso.
Mom was predeceased by her parents, Clarence and Dorothy (Bennett) Swaine; brothers, Clarence Swain and Shirl Bennett; sisters, Joan Edwards and Ruby Horne.
With love and appreciation to our mother’s caregivers of the Canso Seaside Manor, we the family would like to express our heartfelt thanks for being her ears, her voice, her hands. For loving her so much you understood her eye rolls, her frowns, her smiles and throat sounds. You were family to our mom and we are forever grateful.
Cremation has taken place. A private graveside service will take place for family at a later date. Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family at www.haverstocks.com
