Mrs. Anne Lydia Whenham of Innisfail, Alberta passed away at the Innisfail Health Centre on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at the age of 93 years. Mom was born in Emerson, Manitoba in 1929. She lived there until she married her husband in 1947. Mom and Dad moved to High River, Alberta and then to Longview, Alberta, where they resided until 1982. Mom moved to Innisfail, Alberta in 2016 to be closer to family. Her love and passion were her volunteering for the Canadian National Institute for the Blind and she facilitated for other visually impacted individuals. She volunteered for twenty-five years and received the highest award from Queen Elizabeth for her volunteering. Mom received a Medal of Honor and a personal letter from her Majesty. She loved her family and was so thankful for the time spent with family. Mom will be lovingly remembered by her son, Blaire (Carolyn) Whenham of Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, her daughter, Ronda (Harvey) Gunsch of Innisfail, Alberta, her grandchildren, Tara Siegrist, Trevor Bridge, Deanne Whenham and her great grandchildren, Ella Bridge, Hannah Hanson, Colby Siegrist and Owen Bridge. Anne was predeceased by her husband, William Ronald Whenham, and her parents, Adolf, and Otillia Marks.
