Ansell Nix of Deanlea Beach passed away at home on Saturday, October 8, 2022 with family by his side. He was 95 “7/12” years old. Ansell is predeceased by his wife Irene (nee Butson). Much loved Father to Cheryl (Jen), Diane (Larry), Brenda (the late Harry) and Susan (Oleg). Grandfather to Cara, Jason, Jennine (Shawn), and Daniella (Miki). Great Grandfather to Benjamin, Jason-Paul, James, Ian and Deacon, Mateja, Nevena and Mladen. Ansell also leaves behind his nieces, Jane and Nancy as well as other family members in Nova Scotia, Cape Breton and New Brunswick. Ansell worked as an auto mechanic until he retired at the age of 65. He spent the rest of his life enjoying family, friends, and listening to his music. He will be missed by the Deanlea Beach community where he was fondly known as “The Old Man on the Mountain”. He also spent countless hours on his favourite pastime, woodworking.
There will be a memorial service at the Lynn-Stone Funeral Home in Elmvale, Ontario on Thursday, October 13th at 1:30 pm. The family respectfully requests that you wear a mask to attend. The service may be viewed on YouTube beginning about 1:25 pm EDT. Search: lynn stone funeral home.
A celebration of life will be held in the summer of 2023 at Deanlea Beach.
