Bernard Joseph Farrell, age 62, passed away peacefully at Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre on Saturday, October 8, 2022, surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.
Leaving to mourn, the love of his life, Wendy Hillier; whom he loved more than “all the stars that ever shone”.
Also leaving to mourn, his children; Jerome Farrell, Garlanda Joyce (Randy) and Holly King (Jamie); as well as his dearly loved grandchildren, Brookelyn, Hudson, Brielle, Tyson and Journey; brothers, William (Carol Ann), John, Edward (Mary), Michael (Gina) and Phonse; sisters, Margaret (Martin Hanrahan), Susanna Keough, Mercedes Farrell, Elizabeth Farrell and Sandra (Johnny Hann); mother and father-in-law, Onslow and Shirley Hillier; sisters-in-law, Brenda Keeping (Charl), Shelly Hillier, Wilma Farrell; best friends, Mario Walsh, Mike Mallay and Jerry Lake; nieces and nephews; plus a large circle of extended family and friends.
Bernard was predeceased by parents John and Susanna Farrell; brother, Richard Farrell; sister Bridget Martin.
Bern will always be remembered for his love of singing, fishing with his buddies, telling a few stories that were sure to make you laugh and spending countless hours being the best “Poppy Bern” ever.
A special thank you to his nurse, Jennifer and to the chemo unit at the BPHCC for all of your support and kindness, especially Bonnie, for going above and beyond.
Cremation has taken place.
A celebration of life to take place at a date and time to be announced.
In Bernard’s memory donations may be made to the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre Chemo Unit. No flowers by request of the family.
