90 years, on September 29, 2022 at the Hospice of Windsor Campus. Beloved wife of the late Joseph John Ambrisko. Loving mother of Barbara Ambrisko and late husband Karry Keown, Douglas and wife Dana, and grandmother of Ashley and Dylan. Daughter of the late Philip George and Sadie May Hawkins. Dear sister of Bart and wife Jean Hawkins, Phyllis and husband Brian Gibbs, Jessie and husband Paul Kubik and Melvin Hawkins. Survived by many nieces and nephews. Leola graduated Grace Hospital as a registered nurse in 1954 and worked at Metropolitan Hospital in the OR and ER. She enjoyed sharing her prior nursing experiences and history with anyone that would listen. Leola left the nursing profession to raise her family. Was a member of Riverside United Church. Leola was an avid quilter, in which she was a member of the Riverside Quilting Club. Enjoyed tatting, knitting, needlepoint and cross-stitch and loved to share her beautiful handiwork with other people. A cremation has taken place with interment of the cremated remains held at the Heavenly Rest Cemetery. Rev. George Bozanich to preside.
