Peacefully in his sleep, on Monday, October 3, 2022 at Fiddick’s Nursing Home, Petrolia, John Richard Blythe Powell passed away at the age of 89. Survived by his two loving sisters, Ruth (Bill) Carroll, and Annie (the late Ronald) Fyfe. John will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his wife Leona and his children, Greg, Karen, and Sandra.
John served in the Canadian Navy for many years. After he left the service, he moved to Sarnia with his family in 1969 and worked for CIL until he retired.
John’s family would like to thank the incredibly compassionate staff at Fiddick’s Nursing home. Their care of John and their care of us as a family was a source of comfort and appreciated greatly.

Interment of cremated remains will take place in New Richmond United Church Cemetery, New Richmond Quebec.
