It is with deeply saddened hearts that the family of Desiree Jennifer Kum Seun announces her passing at Bluewater Health on Tuesday, October 4th, 2022, at the age of 69. She was fondly known as Jennifer/Jenny to all that knew and loved her.
Born and raised in Guyana, she came to Toronto in 1973 and reconnected with her childhood friend (Frank) who then became the love of her life. They made Sarnia their home for over 47 years where she worked in various fields ranging from office work, drafting, and customer service. In retirement, she enjoyed the company of her friends and family, ball-room dancing, traveling, feeding friends and family with her soul-warming meals and baked goods. She courageously overcame Hodgkin Lymphoma and was in remission for 15 years, only later to succumb to resulting complications with her heart.
Jenny is survived by her soul mate, Frank, with whom she had a loving marriage of 45 years, their daughter Fallon (Cameron), step-grandchildren Carter and Quinn, and many cherished nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her grandson Luca and granddoggies Salami and Enzo.
Family and friends will be received at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Saturday, October 15th, 2022, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Smith Funeral Home on Sunday, October 16th, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. Live stream of service available via www.smithfuneralhome.ca. Reception and cremation will follow.
Room blocks and group rates have been arranged at Days Inn (519-337-5434) until October 10th and Holiday Inn (519-491-5700) under “Fallon Kum Seun”. Please request the bereavement rate at the Hampton Inn (519-339-8000).
Thank you to the incredible Emergency and ICU team at Bluewater Health for providing Jenny with the best care possible. Your dedication and compassion does not go unnoticed and we are appreciative of all that you do.
