Obituary
It is with sadness and tears we announce, the passing of Joe (Joachim) Steinhilber of High Prairie, Alberta on September 17, 2022.
Joe was born to Willi Steinhilber and Louise Genrich on March 20, 1942 in Eberswalde, Germany. Joe was the youngest of six children: Martin, Rosel, Heinz, Edeltraut and Klaus. After the Steinhilber family moved from Germany, they lived in Shelbrook, Saskatchewan before re-locating to Edmonton when Joe was nine years of age.
Joe leaves to mourn his passing, his brother, Heinz (Arnetta) of Kelowna B.C. their children, plus nieces and nephews from his siblings who passed before him and their children. Joe, also leaves to mourn Beatrice’s family, Sophie L’Hirondelle, and Norman L’Hirondelle, of High Prairie, Alberta, Elaine [Gordon] Robertson of Quesnel, B.C, Bernadette L’Hirondelle of Cranbrook B.C, Yvette L’Hirondelle, Andre L’Hirondelle of Edmonton, Alberta and Leon L’Hirondelle, of Wainwright, Alberta, Cecile Walega of Grande Prairie, Alberta and Martin L’Hirondelle of Widewater, Alberta as well as their children and grandchildren.
Joe was pre-deceased by his wife Beatrice, brothers Martin and Klaus Steinhilber, his sisters Rosel, Edeltraut, his brother-in-law Richard L’Hirondelle and Richard’s son Samuel.
Joe will be missed by all of those who loved him.
Rest in Peace. Joe.
