Larry Opperman Saturday April 3rd 2021

Opperman, Larry James. Passed away peacefully at his home in Belleville on April 3rd, 2021, in his 71st year.
Dearly beloved spouse of 43 years to Tammy (Timmins) Opperman. Wonderful, loving father to Ashley (William Sestito), Emily (Damian McCabe) and Kasey (Kieran Lafferty). Loved as “Papa” by his grandchildren: Gray, Madeline, Eloise and Colette. He will be greatly missed by his dog and faithful companion, Spike.
Larry was born in Formosa to Anthony and Gertrude Opperman. He will be missed by his siblings Doug (Karen dec.), Glen (Sandra), Elaine (Hank), Jim (Sherry), Joanne (Dennis), his many nieces and nephews, Tammy’s family, and all members of the deaf community.
Larry worked for many years as an educational assistant and residence counsellor at Sir James Whitney School for the Deaf. When he retired, Larry’s work ethic would not let him slow down. He continued to work at Sir James Whitney and at other jobs that involved his passion for working with his hands: landscaping, home repairs and handiwork. If you wanted something done, you could ALWAYS count on Larry.
Larry will forever be remembered for his strong, yet gentle hugs, his ever happy demeanour and the humour he brought to every room. But most of all, he will be remembered for his big heart and the deep love he shared with his family, coworkers, and friends.
