FISHER, NORMA MAY
May 10, 1931 – Sept 23, 2022
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Norma May Fisher (Kindley) at the age of 91 years. She was born in Tofield, AB. and spent her childhood years in the Tofield area until she met the love of her life, Wilfred at Hardisty, AB. on a blind date arranged by his sister, Lillian.
Norma worked in the Banking Industry until she married Wilf in July 1955 in Edmonton, AB where they had their first child Karen. They moved to Estevan, SK. With Wilf’s job and raised their children there. When an opportunity came to be close to family they transferred to Medicine Hat and then to Sherwood Park.
Norma leaves to cherish her memory her children Karen (Dale) Haas, Debbie (Ed) Kehn, Wayne (Joanne) Fisher, and Diana (Mike) Kyle. Her grandchildren Dan (Mareen) Haas, Steven (Erin) Fisher, Matthew (Jennifer) Haas, Jessica Kehn, Jeff (Natasha) Fisher, Rebecca (Robert) Cale, and Justin Kehn and 10 great grandchildren. All adored their Grandma for her gentle ways, warm love, generosity, and caring as each one was so special to her. Her numerous nieces and nephews as well as the Fisher In-Laws all appreciated this wonderful lady.
Predeceased by her husband Wilfred, her parents Axel & Nita, and her brothers, Earl and Harold.
Norma loved her family – her heart was most full when she could love on and be generous to her husband, children and their families.
She was a great supporter of whichever activity her children, grandchildren or great grandchildren participated in whether in person or on the phone, she loved hearing of their escapades.
Norma was an amazing listener who made friendships easily – showing her caring side in one-on-one interactions. She was fiercely loyal and a treasure to those who knew her. Her passing has left a huge Void in the lives of her family and friends.
Norma was interested in people, was hospitable and gracious with her home always available for any celebrations. She was a fabulous cook and happily spent countless hours preparing and serving on any special occasion. Her memory and times together will be forever cherished and treasured as they are passed on to the next generations.
Norma and Wilf loved to travel often with family or friends and they have many pictures to show for their trips to various places (Hawaii, Disneyland, New York, Maryland, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Canadian East Coast & West Coast)
Norma loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and always held her Church Family close to her heart.
We are comforted by knowing she is now in Heaven and is reunited with Dad, Her Mom & Dad & Brothers & others who have gone before. She suffered with the effects of Dementia the last four years but her sweet spirit shone through with her winning smlle and sparkling eyes. She fell Sept 1st, had surgery Sept 4th & just never recovered. She is free of pain and sorrow now and now dwells where the roses never fade.
Blessed be her Memory.
We are so grateful for the loving care she received in Cloverbar Lodge & Chartwell Emerald Hills she experienced during this journey.
