Heimen Van Der Kraats 1929 2022

Obituary of Heimen Van Der Kraats
Van Der Kraats, Heimen (April 1, 1929-September 15, 2022)
As a twenty-three-year-old immigrant from The Netherlands, Heimen came with his young bride, Jantje Kattenbroek (deceased, 2017) to Canada. He lived a long, healthy life as an unwavering husband, father, and provider to his wife and five girls. Well known throughout Kingston as a hard-working tree surgeon, he owned and operated Kraats Tree Service. He loved his work and continued it until he was eighty-two. His integrity was well-known, and his sense of humor was legendary. Loving father of Geertje Wescomb (Ralph) of Calgary, Corrie Abrams (late David) of Kingston, Ria Berry (Fred) of Kingston, Jane Hunt (Ron) of Idaho, and Marijke van der Kraats of Kingston. Dear Opa of Scott Abrams, Ryan Wescomb, Cara Santos (Jeff), Andrew Berry (Rossana), Janet Montgomery (Steve), Steven Berry (Shari), Nathan Hunt (Alicia), Bryan Hunt (Faith), and Janan Byer (Ezra). He was a caring Opa to twenty great-grandchildren, and a favorite uncle to numerous nieces and nephews in The Netherlands.
