Monique Marie’s Obituary
Monique Marie Saulnier, age 80 of La Villa Acadienne, Meteghan, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 after struggling with her illness. Born in Meteghan Station on April 29, 1942, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Elizabeth (Jeddry) Thibodeau.
Monique had many hobbies. She had a passion for quilting, a hobby she shared with her husband, Jean. She would knit socks and mittens for everyone to ensure they’d have a warm and cozy winter. She also enjoyed making molasses cookies for the children and playing bingo. Her favourite treat was ice cream; she could never get enough of it but was always happy to share. Monique loved company and always welcomed visits from all her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Jean Saulnier who was very dedicated to love and care for her; stepchildren, Karen Thimot (Jimmy), Nita Saulnier (Jamie), Robert Saulnier, Daniel Saulnier (Donna); step-grandchildren, Kristianne Thimot, Natalie Thimot, Vanessa Saulnier, Clarisse Saulnier, Francois Saulnier, Tiffany Saulnier, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her 1st husband, Laurent Deveau; 2nd husband, George Deveau; son, Billy Deveau; brothers, Laurent Thibodeau, Benjamin Thibodeau, Siffroid Thibodeau. Clifford Thibodeau; sisters, Celeste Boudreau, Lizzie Andrews.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Meteghan Funeral Home. As per Monique’s wishes, a public graveside service officiated by Rev. Hospice Akoffodji will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at 10:00 am with burial to follow in St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery, Salmon River.
