Edwin Allan Nickerson
January 17, 1950 – January 17, 2022

Nickerson, Edwin Allan – 72, of Clark’s Harbour, passed away at his residence on Monday, January 17, 2022. Born on January 17, 1950 he was a son of the late Edwin and Helen (Atwood) Nickerson. Edwin is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Susie; son, Aaron (Tina); daughter, Merla (Chris); granddaughter, Halle; siblings, Ronnie (the late Marion) and Paulette (Murray) Townsend; sister-in-law, Janie Nickerson; in-laws, Sharon (the late Sheldon) Stoddard; Tony (Amanda) Rhyno; Todd (the late Bunty) Rhyno; Guilda (Blair) Lloyd and Timmy (Paula) Rhyno; many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great- nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Edwin was predeceased by his brother, Clarke; in-laws, Keith, Bud, Dave and Bill Rhyno. Edwin worked for several fish plants, including Stoddard Fisheries, G.M. Newell Ltd., A.R.T Atkinson and Old Salt Seafood’s. He was Cape Islands most sought after fish splitter. Edwin went lobstering with his uncle Murray. He was an avid deer, duck and rabbit hunter. Edwin was a huge fan of the Yankees and often gotten into some very heated Yankee’s vs Red Sox discussions with Lovitte. He also had some discussions with Paulette as to who had the better camera. Edwin enjoyed trout fishing, looking for deer, watching tv (big bang theory). He also enjoyed taking trips down south with his wife, even though he didn’t enjoy the heat. He enjoyed his wife’s cooking and attending dances with his wife. Edwin and his wife enjoyed talking on the CB Set (aka Whiskey Jack and Miss Mew). He loved pending time at the family camp in Upper Clyde and competing with his brothers, Ronnie and Clarke over who seen the biggest deer. Edwin was very proud of his 16 point Buck, even though it had the ugliest set of horns. Edwin was often found at Billy Bakers Garage, Ernie’s Garage, Fisherman’s Haven and the Smoke Shack chatting with the guys. Edwin’s greatest accomplishment in his life was his family. He was so proud of Arron’s golf accomplishments, which included Aarons 2 NS Mid-Amateur wins, 3 hole in ones and his 10 club championship at Clyde and 2 in Pubnico. He was so very proud of his daughter, Merla’s Nursing degree. He always made a point to ask her how her golf game was improving and would often talk about her softball stats. Most of all he was very proud of his granddaughter, Halle and all of her academic and sports accomplishments and attending Dalhousie University. He would often send her money while attending university so she could enjoy a good meal with her friend’s. Halle was the apple of his eye and always spoiled her, especially on Christmas and also gifted her with a car. Edwin was a true home body, a creature of habit and had his daily routines, which included morning drives to South Side, the Hawk and Ernie’s Garage, dinner, nap, supper, tv then bed. On Friday nights he enjoyed a nice cold Keith’s. Arrangements are under the care and direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Barrington. There will be no formal visitation of funeral service. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Rosalin Nickerson Care Fund or any charity of choice.
