Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Shirley Ann Nelson (Paul) on September 8th, 2022 in Sechelt, BC at the age of 76.
Shirley is predeceased by her parents Paul and Evelyn Moline, her three children Lennea, Todd and Terry, and her great-grandson Jaxon. She is survived by her loving husband Thomas Paul and stepsons Tom Junior, Trevor, Cazmel and grandchildren; newly found birth sister Judy Whelpton and family; daughter Michelle and son-in-law Joel and grandchildren Blake and Hailey, son-in-Law Cyril and grandchildren Rocky, Dan (Ashley) and Taylor (Connor); her granddaughter Amanda and her great-grandchildren; her loving dog Molly; additional birth relatives newly found, and the many people she has touched during her lifetime.
Shirley had the incredible ability to connect with people effortlessly and without judgement and offer endless amounts of love and support to those that crossed her path. Shirley deeply cared for residential school survivors and their path to healing as her husband Tom was one. She was the light of many people’s dark days. This is a loss not only felt by those listed above, but by all those that had a small piece of her huge heart.
Our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Jaschinski and all those at the Cowrie Medical Clinic.
If you wish to donate in Shirley’s memory, please consider giving to the Canadian Cancer Society, or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada to help others in need.
A celebration of life will be held for Shirley on Saturday, September 24th at the Sechelt Band Community Hall at 1:00 pm, 5432 Xenichen Avenue, Sechelt, BC.
