Obituary
Cathy Elizabeth O’Brien departed our world abruptly, after a life well lived, leaving behind family and friends devastated by this loss. Cathy was an outgoing, kind, and generous woman who loved with all of her heart. Her thoughtfulness will be missed by everyone she touched.
She had a passion for helping others and finished her life-long career in health care as a Registered Nurse in Community Mental Health. While she and her soul mate (Bob) took great pride in their heritage home (as anyone who has seen their home alive with Cathy’s decorative touch for all seasons can attest), they also loved travelling the world. Walks on the beach with their devoted fur baby (Foster) followed by a glass of merlot were some of life’s simple pleasures Cathy enjoyed. Her grandchildren (Finn and Wren) were the light of her life who she loved without reservation. She also found joy in participating in the lives of her nieces and nephews, on whom she will have a lasting impact.
Cathy was predeceased by her mother Sandra Kearns and father John O’Brien. She also carried the loss of 5 infant children close to her heart and only those closest to her knew her grief.
She is survived by the love of her life, Bob Webb, her cherished son Jimi O’Reilly (Jen McAdam), step-children Glenda Kusch (Cliff), Vanessa Webb (Warren), and Adrian Webb (Min Huei), brother Mark O’Brien (Anne), sisters Cindy Sleep (Rodney), and Tracy O’Brien (Sam Latimer), grandchildren Finn, Wren, and Coulson, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Due to current restrictions, interment and celebration of life will be held at a later date.
If you wish, donations in Cathy’s memory can be made to the Saint John SPCA.
