Cornelius NEIL Schenk of Wallaceburg passed away peacefully at the Chatham-Kent Hospice on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at the age of 90. Neil is the son of the late Gerrit and Nellie (Neeltje Ruig) Schenk. Predeceased by his beloved wife Jeannette ‘Janke’ (Okkema). Loving father of Yvonne Westra (Peter) of Oxford Station, Diana VanderDeen (Ivan) of Port Rowan, John Schenk (Pam) of Windsor, Mary Ann Koiter (Bob) of Brantford, Gina Airey (Jason) of Sarnia and Jim Schenk (Donna) of St. Thomas. Cherished grandfather of 20 and many great grandchildren. Dear brother of John (Evelyn), William ‘Bill’ (Ida), Gerrit (Gwen), Irene Van Soelen (Ike), Anna Dykstra (late Martin), Margaret Kikkert (Marinus) and the late Peter (Judy). Neil had retired as a foreman with Hillerich & Bradsby, was a member of the Wallaceburg Christian Reformed Church and the Wallaceburg Power & Sail Squadron as Neil and Jeannette loved sailing on the Esmerelda. Family and Friends are invited for visitation at the HAYCOCK-CAVANAGH FUNERAL HOME, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg from 6 – 8 PM on Monday, September 12. The funeral will be celebrated at the Wallaceburg Christian Reformed Church, 150 Bruinsma Avenue, on Tuesday, September 13 at 11 AM. Interment to follow at Riverview Cemetery. If desired, donations to C-K Hospice or the Heart & Stroke Foundation may be left at the funeral home 519.627.3231.
