Jerome Ivy of Knoxville, passed away August 29, 2022. Jerome was born in Bloomington, Indiana on January 6, 1965. He is survived by his wife, Cindy Piazza Ivy; mother, Ethel Braunsdorf; father, William Braunsdorf; sisters, Rina Gimple (Jimmy), Jewel Moran, Mary McCormick (Tom), Cathy Braunsdorf; daughters, Jesika Ivy, Alicia Michelle Piazza (Perry), Dannielle Nicole Beck (Howells); son, Branden Dane Ivy; Grandchildren, Ariya Love Ivy, Jackson Remington Burke, Emilee Rose Foster, Jaxon Creed Perry and Neyland Jack Carter.
Jerome’s passions in this world included, but not limited to were programming—work had been one of his greatest and most intense accomplishments being a self-taught programmer—teaching himself 3 to 4 programming languages over the years, and he prided himself in becoming the best he could be. He was literally a genius in his own way. He loved boating, hiking, eating, playing with the kids and grandkids, traveling, tinkering with many things and creating things like he did one time with his son Brandon Dane Ivy building a chicken coup.
He’d built up many different creations in the yard and garden and deck areas. It was always most important to him to help others where he could. One of his favorite sayings was “give until it hurts”….
Jerome was a quiet, humble yet strong man in many ways. He served our country in The Marines for six years. He then worked in testing soils before he built his first software program for a school system, where his new journey began developing software, eventually working on Title Software with Fidelity Title and other companies.
Jerome Ivy was a hero to many. He was always there to help others in any way he could. His strengths were amazing.
We will all miss this man, he was and is, one of the most unforgettable of men. Arrangements by Bridges Funeral Home, 5430 Rutledge Pike, Knoxville, TN 37924, 865-523-4999. www.bridgesfuneralhome.com
