Obituary of Yvonne Mary Poirier, Lingan
It is with great sadness and broken hearts we announce the passing of our beautiful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Yvonne Poirier, surrounded by her loving family at the age of 86.
Mom was born in New Victoria to the late Raymond and Amanda (Young) Cameron.
Family was everything to our mother ; time spent with them and her life-long friends, Irene MacKay and Jean Chiasson, brought her much happiness.
Mom is survived by her children, Debbie (Wayne), Cordell (Paula), Brenda (Darlene), Wade (Donna) and Perry; brother, Alex Young; grandchildren, Troy (Kelly), Brenda Lynn (Lance), Kimberly (Ryan), Tonya (Corey), Collin (Brook), Allisia, Cameron (Maria); great-grandchildren, Jacob and Alexis, Nathan, Owen, Carsen, Jayda and Lauren Jay. Mom also leaves behind many nieces and nephews and special godson, John Cameron.
Mom was predeceased by the love of her life, her husband, Ernest; daughter, Kimberly; sister, Marie; brother, Evans.
We would like to thank Dr. Jennifer Lange for her many years of care and compassion to our Mom. To 2nd floor staff at New Waterford Hospital, we will never forget your kindness to our mother and the family; it made our journey more bearable.
There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the care and guidance of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, New Waterford. A Funeral Mass of Celebration will be held on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2022 at 10 a.m. in the Parish Church of St. Leonard with Father Godwin Obike officiating. Burial will be in St. Agnes Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at the Knights of Columbus Hall, New Waterford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
