Bob passed away peacefully at Bluewater Health on the evening of September 2, 2022 with his family by his side, at the age of 86. Beloved husband of Rosemary. Loving father of Julie (Rod) of Sarnia and Bob Jr. (Lisa) of Sarnia. Cherished grandpa of Nicholas, Shannon (Nick), Trey (Angie), and Ruma. Great-grandpa to Jackson and Ellie. He will be missed by his puppy, Barney. Predeceased by his parents William and Olga (Nee Anhorn) Munday. Bob was an only child, born on his parents homestead farm in southern Saskatchewan, Section 35, Township 16, Region 27 on March 17, 1936. When he was 5 years old his family moved to Medicine Hat, Alberta. He worked at Northwest Chemicals in Medicine Hat and they sent him to Foxboro, Massachusetts for training in instrumentation. He stayed there for 2 years, working for Thayer Scale. He came to Sarnia on his way back to Alberta and stopped to visit friends in 1960. He applied for a job at Ethyl Corp where he worked for 8 years. Then he met his soul mate Rosemary and they married in 1962, this year they would have celebrated their 60th anniversary on November 17th. He worked with Ron Barnes, Dan Dillon, and Dan Marshall at several plants. When one went to another job they all went. Bob was a proud member of Local 663 for over 50 years. Bob loved the water, he built a cabin cruiser and we spent many years on the water with our children and friends. He had many hobbies; he was in a band with his friends in Medicine Hat and played steel guitar. He liked scuba diving, bowling, square dancing, reading, golfing, travelling to Florida and fishing. Bob’s family would like to thank Dr. Uppal, Bayshore PSW’s, Alzheimer’s Society and Palliative Care at Bluewater Health for the care they gave Bob. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at Bethel Pentecostal Church, 1565 London Line, Sarnia, on Friday, September 9, 2022, at 12:00 p.m. with visitation being held one hour prior from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to Alzheimer’s Society of Sarnia Lambton, Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society (cheques only at the funeral home please).
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Robert “Bob Donald Munday March 17th 1936 September 2nd 2022..
