Robert “Bob” Ernest Barry

Bob was born a bright, blue-eyed boy in 1936. He lived a life of tremendous work ethic and had a strong commitment to family & friends. His work life included: fire-fighting, building highways and driving school bus for which he was recognized for his standard of excellence.
He met Coralyn in the mid-1990’s. They enjoyed living part-time in Casa Grand, Arizona and riding Bob’s Goldwing Motorcycle around Vancouver Island to take in their Grandson, Tyler’s hockey games. Bob was a major contributor, and supporter of Coralyn’s passion for gardening.
Their love-affair brought them to Airdrie, AB in 2018 where they decided to downsize. Bob demonstrated his tenacity and unwaffling opinions until his final days. He also expressed his deep affections for his wife, Coralyn until the end often spending time cuddled up watching movies.
He loved to read and would slip away often to finish a good mystery novel. But most of all, he loved the adventures he and his co-pilot (Coralyn) would experience. To him this was life; life on the road, meeting new people and sharing old stories. Bob Barry passed away early January, 2022 survived by loving wife Coralyn Zaretzky-Barry (Calgary, AB) and his children Bill Barry (Mission, BC) & Sandi Wilson (Parksville, BC). The Waycott Family (Airdrie, AB) including Step-Children: Peter & Michelle, Grand-Children: Tyler & Hailey and Great-Grand Children: Owen & Maya. The Matuszak Family (Calgary, AB) including Step-Child: Melanie, Grand-Children: Mia and Natasha. The Zaretzky Family (Langley, BC) including Step-Children: Donald and Christie.
When you hit the open highway, think of Bob. He will be there along side of you.

Bob, Granpa-Bob; there is an ache in my heart so unfamiliar and hollow. I was not prepared to lose you unexpectedly; and didn’t tell you how much I love you, or what an impact you had on my life. I hope you know. Forever i will think of you and lean on your wisdom for direction. I will strive to live with the integrity you displayed and the tenacity to stay true to yourself. Rest In Peace.

Bob, I never told you how much I love you; and how much you impacted my life. I never thanked you for taking such good care of my mom. I never told you what a hero you are and how you effected me so deeply. I never told you. You will be missed.
