Obituary of Jim Gilpin
Robert “Jim” Gilpin of Parham, ON, passed away on August 28, 2022 at 73 years young, surrounded by his loving family, following unforeseen medical complications. Jim is survived by his soulmate Donna.
Predeceased by parents Robert and Lillian, and dear sister Beverly. He is survived by siblings Brenda (Mike), Carol (Doug), Kathy, Cindy (Scott), Fen (Karen), Ken (Debbie), and foster sister Emily. Survived by stepmother Marie (Bob).
Lovingly remembered by stepchildren Kerri (Chris), and Matt. Jim sadly leaves behind his beautiful grandchildren: Dylan, Olivia, and Faith.
Jim leaves behind James, Mary and their families.
There are several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends that will miss Jim dearly.
Over the course of his life he had a thirst for knowledge. If something needed fixed, he learnt and fixed it himself, often being the man that everyone else turned to, to fix their house, car, boat, and even trailers. If it had a motor, he would tinker until it was fixed.
Jim truly loved nature, and all that comes with it: hunting, fishing, bird watching, deer/moose watching, and especially fall rides on his ATV. Those that knew Jim, knew that he said what he meant and meant what he said.
Everyone who knew Jim felt his big heart and giving nature. He will be missed especially by his grandchildren, with whom he spent countless hours eating kielbasa, riding ATV’s, puttering in the garage, and numerous other activities. He was a huge fan of all baseball – especially the Blue Jays. Jim would want to remind us of his love for horses, Allan Jackson’s music, and endless dance parties in the garage.
As per keeping with Jim’s wishes, he has been cremated, and a private celebration of life will be held for immediate family at a later date.
All donations can be made to the Canadian Wildlife Federation or a charity of your choice.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Jim
