Obituary of Josephine Sustersic
Sustersic Josephine [nee Zonta]
Passed away peacefully in her 98th year with her family by her side. Josie was the last of nine siblings to move on through the gates of heaven. She will be deeply missed but always present in the hearts of her children: Rosemary, John, Heidy [Adam Novak] Mike [Dianna Pilutti]. She was loved by her five grandchildren Brock, Clark, Jessica, Spencer and Samantha. The latest addition to the family, her Great Grandson Jax was the light of her life and always put a smile on her face. Josephine and her late husband John, married 54 years, immigrated to Canada in 1948 from their homeland Slovenia. They built a good life together and were grateful to Canada for the opportunities they were given, but their greatest accomplishment and center of their world was always their family. Josephine was a warrior, the matriarch and fiercely protective of us all. She will be missed but always remembered by all her relatives and friends in Canada, Slovenia, Argentina and USA. Special thanks to everyone at McNally House for the love, compassion and attentive care given to our loving mother; you will always have a special place in our hearts! Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 from 2-4 and 6-8pm Prayer Vigil starting at 2pm. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Gregory the Great Parish, 125 Centennial Pkwy. N. Hamilton on Wednesday, September 7 at 11am. In lieu of flowers, donations in Josephine’s memory can be made to St. Gregory the Great or McNally House Hospice. Notes of sympathy and condolence may be made at www.donaldvbrown.ca
