Casondra Lee Peppard
November 23rd, 1986 – August 29th, 2022
It is with deepest sadness we announce that our beautiful and brave daughter, Casondra (Casey) Lee Peppard, passed from this world. She went to be with her Lord and Savior, after a second gallant fight with cancer, on August 29th, 2022, after a brief stay in Hospice Wellington, in Guelph, ON.
Born on November 23, 1986 in Guelph, Casey was a life-long resident of Arkell, ON and loved the hamlet where she spent almost 33 years of her life. She is so sadly missed by her mom, Sandra (Sandy) Peppard (Lee Grape), “papa”, Michael Peppard, brothers Matthew (Edmonton, AB) and Zakaria (Zak) (Arkell, ON), and her puppies, two loving, high energy Jack Russell Terriers, Aislyn and Taber. She is survived by Grape family members, Jim Grape of Winnipeg, MB and family, cousins David & Colleen and family, Ainsley, Jenny & Rex, all of Winnipeg. Mary Ann Grape and Len Haslem, and Roberta Grape of Guelph. Peppard family members, Paul & Kathy Peppard, Brookfield NS, cousin Patrick & Annalee and family, Raylee Peppard, Truro NS. Sadly missed by niece London Cochran (Moncton, NB) and niece Emily Peppard, nephew Caleb Peppard both of St. John’s NF. As well as many extended family members.
Casey attended public school in Guelph at Tytler PS, Brock Road PS, College Heights and Centennial CVI. Post-Secondary. She had started studies at Seneca College in the Tourism and Flight Attendant program with a desire to become a flight attendant. During her studies, she took a leave of absence for two years due to health reasons; she later returned to complete the program. It was shortly after that God placed in her heart the desire to work with children. Casey studied Early Childhood Education at Conestoga College in Kitchener and Mohawk College in Hamilton, excelling at Mohawk and making the Honour Roll. While she did not reach her dreams of a full time career in Childhood Education, she did have a number of placements and substitution opportunities arose in the Guelph and nearby area. Casey used her love of children by working as a Sunday school nursery at Calvary Baptist Church.
Casey loved the outdoors-she enjoyed camping, hiking and nature. Casey joined scouting in order to pursue these desires and attained her Chief Scout and Queen’s Venturer, with a highlight of attending multiple Scout Masters’ Council Camporee at West Point Military Academy. During her time in scouting, Casey also became a leader with the cub level where she was again sharing her love of the outdoors. At her time in high school, Casey “Dragonfly” was part of the C.E.L.P. program working alongside kids to teach them about our planet and how we can live in harmony. The next summer, in her 17th year, she applied to the Junior Ranger Program and worked in the Thunder Bay region.
Casey is well known for time as a cashier at Domenic’s No Frills in Guelph, where she worked for a number of years as she pursued her education. She loved working at No Frills and saw it as serving, and loving the people that came through her line. So many people had spoken highly of Casey and they also loved going through her till, being their favourite cashier.
During her public school years Casey was involved in athletics. She excelled in cross country and track and field, running at provincial level competitions, representing her schools and the Guelph Optimist Track & Field Club, under “Coach Ken”. Casey volunteered after school in the ‘Run to Read’ program…mentoring kids to put their best foot forward through running and scholastics.
Dancing was a big part of Casey’s life. Starting ballet at the age of 4, she danced all the way through high school. She also volunteered at the dance school run by Mrs. McCloud by helping to get the young students ready for class. She loved dance and the joy it brought her.
We know that Casey is now dancing with our Lord in heaven.
A celebration of life will be held for Casey at Calvary Baptist Church, 454 Arkell Rd., Puslinch, ON N0B 2J0 on Friday, September 2, 2022. Visitation at the church from 10:00 – 11:00 am followed by service from 11:00 – 12:00. Interment directly after the service at Farnham Cemetery, Arkell Rd., followed by light refreshments at the church.
As expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers, donations to Calvary Baptist Church, Guelph (calvaryguelph.com), Hospice Wellington (www.hospicewellington.org) or Save the Manatee (www.savethemanatee.org ) would be appreciated by the family.
