Obituary of George Lloyd Garnhum
On Tuesday, August 30th, 2022, surrounded by his loving family George Lloyd Garnhum of Stratford, passed away peacefully at the age of 81 years at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Beloved husband of the late Joan Mary Garnhum (nee MacAleer). Loving father of Debbie Hancock (Willard Kelly), George (Luanne Kenny), Kent (Christine Howell), Chris (Liza Duffy), Claudette Arnold and Cheryl Chipman (Ryan). Grampy George to grandchildren Nicholas, Nathan, Zachary, Lindsay, Luke, Lily, Terra, Jeremy, Cody, Abigale, Riley, Samantha, Katelyn, Branden, Brooklyn and Brody. Great-grandfather of Eva, Madelyn, Austin, Emersyn, Colton, and Dawson. Also lovingly remembered by his sisters Paulette Leach (Garry) and Claudette Strom (John Jawarski). Fondly remembered by nieces, nephews and extended family & friends across Canada. Predeceased by his parents, Ethel and Paul Charron, his wife Joan Mary, grandson Kent in infancy and also his cherished grandparents Edith and Gus Garnhum. The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and Whisperwood Villa for their care and support. Resting at Hillsboro Funeral Home, 2 Hollis Avenue Stratford, PEI from where the funeral will be held in the funeral home chapel on Sunday at 2 pm. Visiting hours on Saturday from 2-5 pm. Please come and join us in an informal gathering and share your memories and stories with us as we celebrate his life. If so desired, memorial donations may be made to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Foundation. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Hillsboro Funeral Home, Stratford.
