Jessie Alberta McKinnon passed away on August 17, 2022, at the age of 94.
Alberta was born in High River, AB on July 17, 1928, and was adopted by her parents Jim and Jennie McKinnon as an infant and moved to Paisley, Ontario, where she resided for over 30 years before moving to west to Alberta.
She is predeceased by her parents, son Reginald McKinnon, and biological brothers Jack Miller and Bob Miller. Alberta is survived by her daughter, Laurie Brown, and cousins Robert Fletcher and Elizabeth Fletcher. She was loved and cherished for by her dedicated caregiver and friend, Debbie Fletcher in the last 15 years of her life, and resided at the Bethany Care Centre in Airdrie, Alberta for the last 10 years of life. She was frequently visited by Robert, Debbie, and their children and grandchildren, who enjoyed her company and life stories.
Alberta had an uncanny memory for details and dates, which was displayed in her hobby of family history; she enjoyed preserving family connections through her avid letters and correspondence. Her legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone she interacted with. Her family would like to thank the many caregivers who were dedicated to her well being over the years. At her request, no service will be held.
