TROPEA, Luigi
March 19, 1933 – August 25, 2022
It is with heartfelt and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Luigi Tropea, in his 89th year. Beloved husband of Anna for 58 years. Proud and loved father of Frank (Rita), Josie (Doug) and Dori (Paolo). Cherished Nonno of Noella and Alessia, who for him always brought out the sparkle, twinkle and shine in his eyes and a glowing smile that would light up a room whenever he spoke to or spent time with them. They were the “apples of his eyes”, and he taught the girls through his calming loving disposition that family, patience and love were great gifts. He is survived by his brothers Domenico Tropea (Niagara Falls) and Vittorio Tropea (Italy), sister-in-laws Carmelina (Pickering), Gidia (Silvano), Raffaella, Sara, brother-in-law Battista (Italy), and many nieces and nephews in Canada, Italy and Argentina. Predeceased by his parents Anselmo and Francesca Tropea, brothers Gaspare, Francesco, and his sister Angelina. Luigi worked in construction all his life and would often lend a helping hand to those in need. He enjoyed watching a variety of sports: hockey, especially the Toronto Maple Leafs, and soccer. Luigi spent his summers gardening and during wine season crafting his own wine. On many occasions Luigi enjoyed playing cards with family and friends. Special thanks to his PSW workers Wilma from the March of Dimes and Lidia and Michelle from Care Partners for taking care of our dad and his needs. Family and friends are invited to join the family at Morse and Son Funeral Home on Tuesday August 30, 2022 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. A celebration of Luigi’s life will take place at 11 am on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at the funeral home. Cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make a memorial donation to Hotel Dieu Shaver Hospital Foundation. Memories, photos and condolences may be shared at www.morseandson.com
