Obituary of Brian Michael Palmer
PALMER, BRIAN MICHAEL
The passing of Brian Michael Palmer of Fredericton, NB, husband of Barb Kitchen Palmer, occurred on Thursday, August 25, 2022 at Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on October 22, 1951 in Halifax, NS, he was the son of the late Leonard and Reta (MacKnight) Palmer. Brian worked at Central Stores for NB Power for over 35 years. Brian was a very generous person and would give his shirt of his back for any one. He had a great love of the Miramichi and being on the water. Family was very important to him, he had a special bond with his niece Becky. He loved playing crib. He knew ten wrong ways to paint a deck. He loved animals as much as they loved him. He always had a cold beer for company. He was very active in his son’s life growing up, being little league coach, camping and clubs. He loved gadgets, collecting and woodworking.
In addition to his wife, Brian is survived by son, Michael Palmer; step-daughters, Shianne MacDonald (Chris Drouin) and Jennifer MacDonald; grandsons, Shane Malley and Grant Malley; sister Debbie Beunders (John); nephew, Bart Beunders (Carla); nephews, Shane Beunders and Adam Thompson (Stephanie). Besides his parents he was predeceased by his first wife, Claire Palmer, infant brother, David and niece, Tonya “Becky” Thompson (Wayne).
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Sunday, August 28, 2022 from 2-4 pm. The Memorial Service will take place in York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Monday, August 29, 2022 at 11 am with Pastor Normand McDonald officiating. Interment will take place in Burnt Church Cemetery in the afternoon.
