Beloved husband of Lorraine (Bourgeon) Rankin. Loving father of Kevin Rankin predeceased and Kenneth Jason “Kenny” Rankin. Cherished grandfather of Savannah (Cory) and Jason, and great-grandchildren Aiden, Ashton, and Axel. Dear son of Kenneth and Catherine Rankin, both predeceased. Dear brother of Catherine Trenholm (Ronnie), Marcella Watts (Garry), Geraldine Cameron (Sam), Janie Rankin, Sally Thomas, Cynda Dobson (Fred), Mary Stevens (Dan), Alexander Rankin (Roxanne), Norman Rankin, and Alex “Mookie” Rankin predeceased (Shirley). Sadly, missed by many nieces, nephews, and brothers and sisters in-law.
Born in Inverness, Nova Scotia, John worked as a miner at Falconbridge Nickel Mines for over 35 years. He was an avid fisherman who enjoyed riding his bike and spending time with family and friends.
Funeral service in the R.J. Barnard Chapel, Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch St., Monday, August 29, 2022, at 11am. (Friends may call 2-5 and 7-9pm Sunday, or after 10am Monday) Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium. In lieu of flowers donations to the Northern Cancer Centre would be appreciated.
