Hans Joachim Kruggel was born in Vienna, Austria on April 25, 1940 and passed away peacefully on January 6, 2022 in Trail, BC.
He is predeceased by his first wife, Marilyn and his son Brian.
He is survived by his wife Ede, his daughter Susan, son in law Bob, grandsons Scott (Nandi) and Shawn (Josie), great grandson Milo, stepchildren Dean and Michelle (Steve) and grandchildren Selina (Steven) and Lee.
Hans was an avid fisherman and had many willing fishing partners. He loved hockey and was a diehard Oilers fan. In his early retirement he was involved with a seniors gymnastic group and performed with them throughout the country and at a world gymnaestrada in Lisbon, Portugal was also involved with managing the Christmas kettles for the Salvation Army. Hans had a wonderful sense of humour and made people laugh right to the end. He will be greatly missed by many.
A memorial service will be held later when circumstances allow.
The family would like to thank all those involved in his care. Special thanks to his home care nurse, Narin and the staff at Pharma Choice for their extra care and support.
