David Robert Symonds
David Robert Symonds passed away peacefully at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital on August 20th, 2022. He was born on July 28, 1942 in Yarmouth to Bob and Eleanor Symonds of Darling’s Lake.
David joined the military at the young age of 16 and went on to serve for an impressive 34 years. He served in Germany and spent many years in Gagetown. In his spare time, he loved to golf, even travelling to Myrtle Beach to golf for many years. David also enjoyed puzzles (Only the ones with the regular pieces), cats, feeding the crows and homemade pies. In his later years his greatest joys were his grandnieces, Olivia, Megan, Claire and Aila as well as his daily meals at The Shanty.
David was predeceased by his parents, Bob and Eleanor Symonds of Darling’s Lake; brothers-in-laws, Bruce Wallace and Allan LeBlanc. He is survived by his sister, Eileen Wallace LeBlanc; brother, Scott Symonds; sister-in-law, Norma Lowe; nephews, Trevor (Stephanie) Wallace, Alan Symonds; nieces Angela (Mark) Lawton, Dana Hamilton, Hilary (Kevin) Chouinard; grandnieces, Olivia and Megan Hamilton, Claire and Aila Wallace and Renee Chouinard.
The family would like to send special thanks to the staff at The Shanty for all their kindness as well as Dr. Brian Moses for all his care.
Donations in memory of David can be made to the SPCA and a celebration of life will be held in Jacob’s Loft on Tuesday August 30th from 7-9 PM. Online condolences are available by visiting www. sweenysfuneralhome.net.
